STEVEN COURCHANE

CNC PROGRAMMER & MACHINIST

Steven Courchane brings 14 years of manufacturing experience to TITANS of CNC, along with a strong background in prototyping, problem solving, and cross-industry innovation. Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, and now living in Prosper, Texas, Steven entered the trade with no formal machining knowledge, starting at the ground level in a job shop and building his career through hands-on experience, persistence, and skill.

Steven entered manufacturing from the ground up, learning the trade through hands-on experience and steadily developing into a versatile manufacturing professional. Over the course of his career, he has worked across job shop prototyping, optics, aerospace, sales, training, and service environments. That broad background has given him a unique perspective on manufacturing, allowing him to understand not only how parts are made, but also how to communicate the value, challenges, and opportunities that exist throughout the industry.

Steven has worked with a wide range of equipment, including vertical machining centers, 5-axis mills, lathes, mill-turn machines, plasma cutters, CNC routers, robotic arms, CMMs, laser cutters and markers, and optical comparators. His experience spans both prototype and production work across materials such as plastics, aluminum, stainless steel, copper, and Inconel, giving him a well-rounded understanding of diverse manufacturing processes and applications.

What Steven enjoys most is prototype machining on vertical mills and the challenge of finding creative solutions for complex parts. He is especially drawn to the problem-solving side of manufacturing: developing workholding strategies, overcoming process limitations, and finding ways to produce difficult parts even when the ideal machine or setup is unavailable. That ability to think through obstacles and create practical solutions is one of the qualities that defines his approach to the trade.

Just because a process works does not mean it can't be improved.

Steven Courchane

Some of Steven’s most impressive work includes aerospace projects involving rocket engine and spaceflight components, as well as precision parts for electron microscope systems during his time in the optics industry. These projects demanded a high level of accuracy, adaptability, and technical confidence, and they reflect the wide range of industries where Steven has applied his skills throughout his career.

Manufacturing has had a profound impact on Steven’s life. It provided focus and direction at a time when he was still searching for a path forward, and that experience continues to motivate him today. At TITANS of CNC, he values the opportunity to collaborate with talented people from across the industry while helping create projects and content that make a real difference. Being part of a team that is advancing manufacturing education while inspiring the next generation adds even greater meaning to the work.

One of Steven’s most unique strengths is the way he connects manufacturing with his background in gaming. He enjoys finding ways to gamify learning and make machining more relatable, engaging, and approachable for people who may not yet understand the possibilities within the trade. His ability to break down complex concepts into something people can easily connect with makes him an effective educator, communicator, and advocate for manufacturing.

Steven represents the kind of modern manufacturing professional that TITANS of CNC is proud to showcase: adaptable, technically capable, creative, and driven by the belief that this trade can change lives.
