TYSON GILROY
LATHE SUPERVISOR
Tyson Ikaika Gilroy brings 19 years of hands-on machining experience to TITANS of CNC, along with a lifetime connection to the shop, the craft, and the mission behind it all. Born in Wailuku, Hawaii, and now living in Argyle, Texas, Tyson shares life with his wife Victoria and their two pet parrots. His family is also close by, including his father Titan Gilroy, his stepmother Gina, and his brother and sister, which makes both family and work deeply connected parts of his everyday life.
Tyson began his career at just 18 years old, working alongside his father when the company was still known as Titan Engineering and Titan America MFG. TITANS of CNC has been the only machine shop he has ever worked in, which means his entire career has been shaped inside one of the most demanding and high-level machining environments in the world. Over nearly two decades, he has grown with the company, helping build the standard of excellence that TITANS of CNC is known for today.
Turning has been the foundation of Tyson’s career from the very beginning. He started in the lathe department and has spent his life running complex jobs, including some of the most difficult Inconel aerospace components for companies such as SpaceX. When people walk into TITANS of CNC and see many of the turned parts on display, they are seeing the result of the work Tyson helped produce alongside Travis: real parts, real difficulty, and real machining at the highest level.
Today, Tyson leads the Swiss department at TITANS of CNC, running the Tornos machines in the shop and continuing to push precision machining forward through one of the most advanced disciplines in manufacturing. His experience in turning, Swiss machining, and aerospace-level production reflects years of discipline, technical ability, and commitment to mastering hard work in hard materials.
I'm going to take you step by step through how we make each part and the set up, along with the tooling and speeds and feeds and show you exactly the formula you need to be set up for success.
One of Tyson’s favorite parts of working at TITANS of CNC is working side by side with his father every day. Beyond the shop floor, he is also deeply passionate about the TITANS of CNC Academy and the impact it has on machinists around the world. The Rocket Series is especially meaningful to him because of how involved he was in its development and how powerfully it has changed lives across the industry. For Tyson, helping create content and curriculum that truly elevates machinists is just as important as making the parts themselves.
Tyson represents the next generation of TITANS of CNC excellence: a machinist who grew up in the trade, earned his skill through years of real production, and now helps lead one of the most important educational missions in manufacturing. His work reflects precision, loyalty, and a deep commitment to both family and the future of the industry.
