“WHEN TIME IS MONEY, EFFICIENCY IS THE KEY”
For many shops, more time is spent on workpiece setup for specific jobs than time is spent on the actual machining. This is especially true for machines that are not equipped with a probe.
Using wiggler-style edge finders to zero the X and Y on the workpiece can be time-consuming since you must rotate the spindle for each axis and calculate the radius of the edge finder to get zero. In addition, anytime calculations are necessary, it increases the chance of operator error—which increases time and money spent.
The Haimer 3D-Sensor is the ultimate solution! With the 3D-Sensor you no longer need to rotate the spindle or use calculations to zero your workpiece accurately. You can also use it to zero the Z-axis. Truly this tool lives up to its 3D name! Additionally, the Sensor is excellent for inspecting features right on the machine.
The 3D-Sensor is essential to increase your efficiency, accuracy and decrease time spent on setup and troubleshooting. This frees more time for you to make more chips!
QUALITY SETS IT APART
The repeatability and ease-of-use of this standalone tool make it a fantastic addition to any tool room! The Haimer 3D-Sensor is available in metric and imperial versions, with 0.01 mm or 0.0004” precision. It also features replaceable probe tips in multiple sizes and does not require recalibration or special tooling, making quick work of probe tip replacement.
The 3D-Sensor also protects itself by utilizing a large overrun tolerance combined with preset breaking points, which helps prevent costly damage if the Sensor is overrun.
What’s more, the 3D-Sensor is waterproof—an important feature to keep coolant away from damaging the tool!
We use our Haimer 3D-Sensor on a variety of machines, from the Tormach 770M+ to the Doosan DEM 4000. It is a critical tool in our shop, and we are confident that once you experience the 3D-Sensor yourself, you will never go back!
